TOTAL Rallies Golfers for Charity

Lagos, Nigeria, 14 October 2015

The 20th edition of Total’s Annual Golf Charity Tournament tees off by 7:00 am at the IBB International Golf & Country Club, Abuja on Saturday, 17 October 2015.

This year’s competition will be by Stable Ford format and played over 18 holes. About 150 golfers from various parts of the country are expected to participate.

The tournament is designed to raise funds for improvement of infrastructure in selected local charities as part of the company’s social responsibility.

All players are expected to make voluntary donations as participating fees. The amount realised will be added to a special fund set aside by Total and presented to selected charity organizations. Proceeds from this year’s tournament shall be donated for improvement of infrastructure at the Zaamar Institute, Abuja, a learning ability centre for children with autism.

“Total E&P Nigeria is proud to continue supporting such initiatives aimed at giving back to society”, said Nicolas Terraz, Managing Director of Total E&P Nigeria Ltd.

Two Charities in Lagos benefitted from proceeds of this initiative in 2013. They are, the Ajofa Special Education Foundation for the Deaf and the St. Kizito Clinic, Idi-Araba.

In 2014, the Compassion Home, Nkpogu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a care centre for physically challenged children was the beneficiary.
