Total and NCDMB signs Nigerian Content Compliance Certificate for Ikike Project Packages
The formal endorsement and issuance of the Nigerian Content Compliant Certificates (NCCCs) for the four contract packages of Total's Ikike Field Development Project on was done on Tuesday July 1, 2019, by the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote.
The signing ceremony which was one of the highlights of Day One of the 2019 edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas conference held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, was witnessed by many dignitaries from NNPC, Government Officials, and other delegates to the conference.
The Senior Vice President, E&P Africa, Mr. Nicolas Terraz, who signed the NCCCs on behalf of NNPC/TEPNG JV expressed appreciation for the co-operation and support of NCDMB throughout the tendering phases of the Ikike project which culminated in the endorsement and issuance of the NCCCs in record time.
With the signing of the NCCCs for the entire 4 packages of the project prior to the formal award of contracts, TEPNG, through Ikike Project, has demonstrated utmost level of compliance to the provisions of the NOGICD Act 2010, and thus set an exemplary record to be emulated by subsequent projects of similar nature.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary NCDMB, Engr. Wabote congratulated Mr. Terraz for a successful tenure as MD/CE of Total Upstream companies in Nigeria and for seeing to the successful start-up of the Egina Project. He wished him well in his new position as the Senior Vice President, E&P Africa for the Total Group. Mr. Wabote also welcomed the new MD/CE of TEPNG, Mr. Mike Sangster and encouraged him to see to the success of Ikike, Preowei and other projects.
The four contract packages endorsed by NCDMB are: Construction and Commissioning of Jacket and Topside; Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines; Brownfield Modification and Integration Works and; Instrumentation Controls and Safety Systems.
The Ikike field is expected to add 32000 bopd at plateau to Nigeria's oil production.
